Active citizenship

The project aimed to strengthen active European citizenship by developing green skills and effective capabilities to engage adults in NOE activities, making the initiatives more participatory. Ten association staff participated in a training program at the FURIM Institute in Oslo, a city recognized for its sustainability policies and focus on environmental education. During the mobility, participants learned about adult education, ecological transition, and best practices related to sustainable cultural tourism. The program included workshops, hands-on activities, and storytelling labs to improve adult engagement and support the dissemination of European Green Deal policies.

The mobility also offered opportunities for intercultural exchange with local professionals and organizations. The skills acquired will be integrated into the association's daily work, helping make future initiatives more engaging, sustainable, and responsive to the community's needs.

Novara, April 9, 2025 – One of the main missions of the Association Novara Europa It is the training of adults on environmental sustainability issues, now more than ever at the heart of European policies for building a green and responsible future.

In this perspective, the president Emilia Ramazzotti and some associates recently took part in a missione formativa a Oslo, the capital of Norway and a city that is a symbol of environmental innovation which, thanks to far-sighted choices made in recent years, aims to become nearly zero-emission by 2030.

Mobility, made possible by the program Erasmus+ KA1 dedicated to adult education, it allowed participants to follow classroom lessons with experts in sustainable mobility and urban planning, visit some symbolic places of the city with regards to the topics covered, meet the managers of the Oslo City Council Environmental Department and compare best practices and methods for involving individuals and communities in formal and informal training programs related to sustainability. The program was curated by Furim, a Norwegian institute engaged in social and environmental inclusion projects.

A concrete and stimulating experience that enriches participants' skills and strengthens Novara Europa's commitment to promoting an active culture of sustainability. The knowledge acquired in Oslo will not be limited to the international experience, but will be transferred to the Novara area Through training activities, events, workshops, and awareness-raising sessions aimed at citizens, the Association will help spread good practices and empower the local community to lead real change toward a more sustainable future.
